Music
Music, one of the main reasons that you are hiring a DJ! At Performance DJ we view the selection of music at your dance as a two fold process. We must focus on two areas: what do the kids want and what does the administration want. Years of experience and hundreds of dances has taught us just how to tackle this. We supply all of todays biggest dance hits in the cleanest edited formats. In fact we recieve our music in the same format and at the same time that the local radio stations recieve theirs. So you know that we will have the all of the latest hits in the cleanest format possible. We pride ourselves in never having recieved a complaint from school faculty or students for our music selection. Also when you contact us make sure you ask about setting up a special website where your students can make requests before the date of your dance!

Lighting
We refuse to do a dance without at least a basic light show, that is why it is included in all quotes. Great sound and a great DJ is awesome, but it is the light show that really sets the mood and the atmosphere for your school dance. As the music changes the light show will change to reflect the song and the mood. Most DJs offer 8 of those can lights (par cans) that randomly flash with the music. That is no light show, it is an element of a light show. Our basic light show included with each quote includes 4 par cans, 3 intelligent lights, and a mirror ball flown from 10 feet of light truss 10 feet in the air. You can elect to upgrade the light show to reflect your schools needs this may include a computer controlled 30 light system or more flown from over 150 feet of light truss above the center of the dance floor! Regardless of which light show you go with we will adjust the light show to fit your venue when we come to set up.

Sound
I remember walking into a school dance a few years ago and seeing two HUGE stacks of speakers. But there was one problem, I could hardly hear any of the words and it sounded horrible! That is why we have elected only to utilize the best of the best of pro audio gear. Our computerized performance system (CPS) consists of all top of the line JBL speakers pushed by Crown and QSC amps. I could list all of the gear and model numbers but that would mean very little, lets suffice to say that we have enough gear to put on an amazing show for any number of students from 100 in a school cafeteria up to 5,000 or more at the North Carolina Convention Center.

World Renowned DJs
Equipment means nothing compared to the talent that is running it. At Performance DJ we currently have three DJs who have been recognized accross the United States and throughout various other countries (New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and various others) for their skills in music selection and their overall performance.
